Room 2 is a class of 20, Year 1 and 2 students. We are 5 and 6 years old and go to Oakura School in Oakura, Taranaki, New Zealand. Oakura is a small village on the coast. We can see Mount Taranaki from our school playground and are near Egmont National Park. Oakura School children take care of the local beach and enjoy activities in their local environment.

FANTASTIC GYMNASTICS
We had loads of fun learning how to jump and land safely at gymnastics today. We used lots of floor equipment, benches, beams and big soft pads for bouncing off and climbing up onto. No one wanted to leave, it was so much fun!

What Makes Us All Different?
Room 4 have been wondering what makes us all different. We have been studying the Pacific Islands and comparing their peoples lifestyles to our own.
We discovered that the people of the Pacific grow and eat different fruit and vegetables to us because the weather is much warmer.
We enjoyed trying mango, coconut and fresh coconut milk in class.
Perhaps eating different foods is what makes us all different?
